Heli Theory - CPL Distance Learning Pack
Helitheory is pleased to announce our dedicated self-study theory pack for commercial helicopter pilots.
At the heart of the package lies five new Helitheory CPL textbooks and seven new study guides. Accompanied by a curated set of additional texts, tools and materials, this is everything you need for the CASA CPL-H exams.
This pack is the the result of over 15 years spent successfully teaching PPL-H and CPL-H courses across Australia, and has been rigorously tested with students prior to release.
Description
“I’m so excited to finally be able to announce the release of the CPL(H) Distance Learning Pack. After many years of testing the contents with students in our classes, I’m confident that this pack contains everything a student needs to successfully complete the theory component of their commercial helicopter pilot’s licence.
The pack is designed to make the process as painless as possible. There’s a dedicated study guide for each subject that guides the student through the process, containing strategies for approaching the subject, revision exercises, practice tests, and more. Each study guide accompanies a core textbook, leading the student through the book, and suggesting supporting material, which is also contained in the pack.
The box also contains the full suite of law books – CAR, CASR, MOS, AIP, ERSA, and more – that the student needs for their CPL exams, as well as all of the navigation equipment and maps required.
Finally, the pack also contains a membership for the student with PPE Online. When the students are in the final preparation stages before the exam, it is crucial that they have comprehensive and up-to-date practice exams. PPE exams are regularly updated and reflect the CASA PEXO exams very well.
I hope that this pack makes studying for the CPL as easy as our PPL pack has made it for private licence candidates over the last seven years.”

Helitheory, we are an independent training organisation specialising in ground-schooling for helicopter pilots. Helitheory is a CASA-recognised theory provider, working with flight schools throughout Australia to help students achieve their training goals.
The helicopter is a complex and wonderful machine. These complexities make the helicopter versatile and rewarding to learn to fly, but they can also make the theory component of a licence challenging. Our aim is to make the theory part of your licence as easy and as painless as it possibly can be.
Alex Grivas is our chief instructor, he has held a commercial helicopter licence since 2006 (amongst a stack of other approvals and qualifications). He has over a decade’s experience working as a theory instructor in Australia and overseas. Alex authors our manuals and runs PPL(H), PMI, and AROC courses, gives private tuition and advice. If you have any questions on helicopter theory, about aspects of flying, or need any kind of helicopter, UAV or general dealing-with-CASA advice, Alex is here to help.
